Maryville Downtown Association exists to educate residents on the importance of revitalization the downtown. The MDA serves as a liaison to the City of Maryville and invested entities that are committed to the success of downtown growth. Revitalization efforts will organize within the “Four-Point Approach.” The four points are keys to the success, and they are as follows: (cited from the “Main Street Committee Members Handbook” by the National Trust Main Street Center).
Organization – means getting everyone working on the same goal. The tough work of building consensus and cooperation among groups and is responsible for building volunteer-drive programming to support downtown revitalization efforts. Learn More
Promotion – means selling the image and promise of Main Street to all prospects. Committee members will market the district’s unique characteristics to shoppers, investors, new business, and visitors. They are responsible for creative an effective promotion strategy and utilizing volunteers to successful market the downtown revitalization campaigns. Learn More
Design – means getting Main Street in top physical shape. This committee sets to organize and capitalize on downtown’s best asset and create an inviting atmosphere through window displays, parking areas, sidewalks, streetlights, and landscaping. Lean More
Economic Vitality – means finding a new purpose for Main Street’s enterprises by helping existing downtown business expand and recruiting new one’s for today’s market. Learn More
The MDA supports and oversees committee contributions and receive, administer, and distribute funds in connection with the activities related to the purposes above. The program engages in activities that are in the purview of Section 501 c 3 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 or corresponding sections of any prior of future law. No part of the net earnings of the Program will inure to the benefit of any of its members or any other individual, and the Program does not participate in, or intervene in, any political campaign on behalf of any candidate for public office.
